And very serious concerns have been raised about the process that led to this proposal. NEW YORK - Public Advocate candidate Bill de Blasio, State Senators Eric Schneiderman and Bill Perkins, Assemblymember Adriano Espaillat, and tenants rallied today at a Washington Heights apartment building that has qualified for de Blasio's Slumlord Watch List. Elected officials and tenants from 2145 Amsterdam Avenue, a building with over 200 open hazardous violations, protested the negligent landlords whose unsafe buildings are putting local residents in danger.
