Mark-Viverito Endorses de Blasio for Public Advocate; Team Up to Propose New NYCHA Security Measures
NEW YORK – On Monday, June 22, Public Advocate Candidate Bill de Blasio will organize residents in Washington Heights to protest an impending rent hike. De Blasio will gather petition signatures, letters, and distribute call sheets to residents to protest a scheduled vote on Tuesday by the Rent Guidelines Board which is expected to raise rents on rent stabilized apartments.
BROOKLYN, NY: Councilmember Bill de Blasio will join one hundred Brooklyn residents, Borough President Marty Markowitz and event organizer John Heyer, to celebrate a street renaming. The new street, “Citizens of Pozzallo Way” will be located on the block of Henry Street between Sackett Street and Union Street in Brooklyn, thanks to a law sponsored by de Blasio.
When: Friday, June 12, 12:00 PM
Where: 504 Henry Street (btw Union and Sackett Street) Brooklyn NY
NEW YORK - Council Member Bill de Blasio today released a comprehensive Swine Flu Community Outreach Plan to ensure that parents and concerned members of affected communities have increased access to information and can address health care concerns.
When City Council Member Bill de Blasio criticized the Department of Education's bill of rights for parents as being too limited last week, it was the first many of us had ever heard of such a document. Now, just a week later, the document has expanded, ballooning to an eight-page list of 57 enumerated rights divided into four sections. That's up from five one-sentence rights published on a single Web page.
The Bronx Democratic Party announced today that it has made its endorsements in the
Democratic Primary contests for citywide office: Bill Thompson for Mayor, Melinda Katz for
Comptroller, and Bill de Blasio for Public Advocate of the City of New York.
Bill Thompson has spent over two decades serving the people of New York. A proven
leader who has worked aggressively to strengthen the city’s finances, uncover waste and
abuse, and safeguard the city’s finances, Bill Thompson was elected City Comptroller in 2001
Continuing his quest to lock down all the big-name Manhattan Democrats in support of his public advocate bid, Councilman Bill de Blasio is unveiling yet another round of endorsements - this time of East Side electeds.
Today's list includes: Sen. Liz Krueger, Assemblymen Jonathan Bing, Micah Kellner and Brian Kavanagh and Council members Jessica Lappin and Dan Garodnick.
Lappin is arguably the most interesting of the bunch, given that she was once considering a run for public advocate herself, which would have made her the lone female candidate in the field.

NEW YORK – Bill de Blasio today received the endorsement of five prominent East Side Manhattan elected officials for Public Advocate, building upon his large coalition of support in the race.
NEW YORK - Bill de Blasio was endorsed for Public Advocate today by U.S. Reps. Congressman Edolphus "Ed" Towns and Congresswoman Yvette Clarke.
The endorsement by two of New York's most prominent African-American and Caribbean-American leaders, representing Central Brooklyn's diverse constituency, adds fresh momentum to the de Blasio campaign's growing coalition.
Councilman Bill de Blasio received endorsements on Tuesday from two fellow Brooklyn Democrats, Yvette D. Clarke and Edolphus Towns, in his race for New York City public advocate... In their endorsement messages, Mr. Towns and Ms. Clarke both said that Mr. de Blasio stood out among the field.
