Brooklyn, NY — Today, the New York Police Chief's Benevolent Association (CBA) endorsed Bill de Blasio for mayor, citing his commitment to public safety and plan to bring police and communities together.
"Members of the CBA have worked together with Bill de Blasio for many years, we know he is dedicated to the safety of all the people living and working in New York City," said CBA President Chief Eugene Tumolo. "I look forward to working with Bill on his efforts to keep the city safe and bring police and the community together for truly effective law enforcement."
"I'm honored to receive the endorsement of our hardworking police chiefs, who do extraordinary work to keep our city safe," said Bill de Blasio, Democratic nominee for New York City mayor. "From getting illegal guns off our streets to investigating violent crimes, our police chiefs meet each and every challenge with high professionalism and skill. I look forward to working with CBA in the months ahead to keep our city safe across all five boroughs."
